Russell Anderson (July 19, 1915 – March 9, 2009)
Russell was born in Mayburg, PA on July 19, 1915. His family moved to Cherry Grove in 1932, and he lived here ever since.
The Cherry Grove VFD was founded on June 10, 1970, and Russell was there from the beginning. Russell was an active, then semi/active member of our fire department until his health started to fail in the late part of the 2009 winter. He was our fireman for 39 years. In the Sheffield’s 2006 Annual Fireman’s Parade, they honored Russell as their Grand Marshall. He was indeed an asset to our VFD and community. You are missed.
