Dues & Donations

Our township does not have a fire tax so we must rely on Annual Associate Membership* Dues from the land owners in Cherry Grove Township. For many, many years we had our dues set at $8.00 a year. In 2007 we made the hard decision to increase our dues to $15.00 per year. Even though there has been a continual rise in cost of our utilities, maintenance of building, continuing education/training, fuel for our fire vehicles, maintenance and upkeep of our vehicles, and the new building addition, we are leaving our dues at $15.00 for the year 2019. Hopefully all landowners have or will be receiving their letter in the near future for our 2019 dues.  If you haven’t you can mail dues money to:

Cherry Grove VFD
6045 Cherry Grove Road
Clarendon, Pa  16313

We would appreciate if dues were paid by the end of May due to bookkeeping and auditing.

Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.  We will gladly accept any additional donations above the cost of the dues to help support our VFD. If you would like to make a donation please make check payable to the Cherry Grove VFD and mail to the above address.

We sincerely appreciate all the contributions made in the past and ask for your continued support in this year. The money our fire department receives is derived mostly from your dues, donations, our spring and fall gun raffles and our chili fest. All dues monies are put into a department fund and are used to purchase and maintain fire equipment, maintain vehicles, medical supplies and building upkeep. As you can see, it is an ongoing struggle to maintain the fire department and we do NEED your help.

*Associate Membership is not a membership to our fire department, but is a fee that is charged to owners who have property located in Cherry Grove Township in lieu of fire taxes.  Any person who does not pay their Associate Membership dues can be subject to charges should a fire arise on their property that requires the use of our equipment.
